Dorchester Town have strengthened their squad with the loan signings of defender Jay Williams and forward Jack Topley.
Williams has joined the Magpies on loan from League One side Reading. The 18-year-old central defender is part of the Royals’ under-21 squad and previously came through the academy at AFC Bournemouth.
After completing a two-year scholarship with the Cherries, Williams left the south coast club in June and has since impressed during a recent trial period, featuring in a number of pre-season fixtures for Reading’s under-21s.
The young defender made his Dorchester debut in Saturday’s thrilling 4–3 victory over Havant & Waterlooville.
Dorchester have also added extra attacking options with the arrival of teenage forward Jack Topley on loan from Championship side Hull City.
Topley is a second-year scholar with the Tigers and a member of their under-18 squad. He has previously represented Southampton at youth level and has also gained international experience after training with the Tanzania under-20s squad.
