Charles Leclerc has left Formula 1 fans highly entertained after revealing the mischievous Secret Santa present he gave to George Russell.
The Ferrari driver chose to commemorate their controversial moment from the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix by gifting Russell a framed image — complete with a looping video — of Leclerc’s disputed overtake at Zandvoort. The move in question occurred during a safety car restart, when Leclerc challenged Russell around the outside of Turn 11 and appeared to run beyond the track limits at Turn 12 before rejoining ahead.
At the time, Russell questioned the legality of the pass over team radio, while Leclerc argued that Russell had left him no room. The incident was reviewed by the stewards after the race, with both drivers summoned. Ultimately, officials ruled that it was a racing incident and took no further action.
The gift itself drew an amused response from Russell. As he unwrapped the frame, he jokingly described the gesture as “naughty” before discovering the second element: an electronic display playing the overtake in slow motion. His reaction mixed humour with sarcasm, as he mockingly thanked Leclerc while continuing to question the legitimacy of the move.
Russell’s playful comments only added to the entertainment, and fans were quick to share their reactions online. Many praised Leclerc’s sense of humour, with some calling the gift perfectly executed “ragebait,” while others simply described it as a bold and hilarious choice.
The light-hearted exchange quickly went viral, highlighting the competitive tension — and sense of fun — between two of Formula 1’s biggest stars.
