⚽ Southern League Premier South: Walton & Hersham 4–0 Weymouth

By Sports Lounge Reporter

Weymouth’s frustrating away form continued as the Terras fell to a heavy 4–0 defeat against league leaders Walton & Hersham in Saturday’s Southern League Premier South clash.

Tough Day for the Terras

It was a difficult afternoon for Steve Claridge’s side, who struggled to contain a confident Walton & Hersham team from the first whistle.

The hosts took the lead on 27 minutes, when captain Joey Jones powered home a header from a well-delivered free-kick. Weymouth never really recovered, and right on half-time Jack Wood doubled the advantage, rounding keeper Ben Clark and tapping into an empty net to make it 2–0 at the break.

Missed Chances After the Break

Weymouth improved slightly after the restart but still found it hard to create clear openings.
Their best moment came through Reuben Reid, who saw a header crash against the upright — the Terras’ only real chance of note.

At the other end, Rogalski thought he had added a third, only for his goal to be ruled out for offside. But the Swans’ pressure never eased.

Late Goals Seal It

In the closing stages, Walton & Hersham wrapped up all three points with two quick goals.
First, Johl Powell fired home from a tight angle on 82 minutes to make it 3–0. Then, just three minutes later, Dawid Rogalski pounced to complete the scoring and secure an eighth home win of the campaign.

The defeat leaves Weymouth with seven losses in their opening fixtures and plenty to reflect on before their next outing.
