Puddletown player charges forward in a fierce contest, as the club prepares for their first home game of the 2025/26 season at Greenfields.

The wait is over — Puddletown finally make their home bow of the 2025/26 season this Saturday, and it couldn’t be a bigger test. Lytchett are in town, a side who have dominated this fixture in recent years.

The visitors arrive having won the last three head-to-head clashes by big margins, but this Puddle side feel different. They come into the clash full of confidence after last weekend’s historic away victory at Yeovil, a result that has already turned heads around the league.

Homecoming Heroes & New Faces

Puddletown’s squad is bolstered by several key returns and debutants:

Lytchett Bring Belief

Lytchett also began their campaign with a strong win, beating Bournemouth 3s. They welcome the return of Jamie O’Shea, who has re-joined as a player/coach after a spell at Wimborne. An ankle injury rules him out on the pitch this weekend, but his presence in the camp adds confidence that Lytchett can mount another big season.

Greenfields Atmosphere

While Lytchett’s record makes them favourites on paper, Greenfields has always been a fortress for Puddletown. With the boost of returning players, new signings, and the buzz of their Yeovil win, Puddle will see this as a golden chance to lay down a marker for the season ahead.

Expect a physical contest, high intensity, and a home crowd ready to roar.

Kick-off is at 3pm Saturday, September 13, and the club is urging supporters to pack Greenfields and get behind the team.
