Goals Galore Despite Wind and Rain
It was a wet and blustery weekend across Dorset, but that didn’t stop the goals from flying in during matchday six of the Dorset Premier League 2025/26 season.
Bournemouth Sports Hit Seven
The standout result came at Chapel Gate where reigning champions Bournemouth Sports thrashed Wimborne Town Reserves 7-2.
Taylor Webb stole the show with a hat-trick, while Sam Bennett, Daniel Hayward, and Thomas White added further goals. The young Wimborne side, made up largely of academy players, struggled to cope with the champions’ attacking threat.
Leaders Cobham Held
At Merley Park, table-toppers Cobham Sports dropped their first points of the season in a 1-1 draw with Dorchester Sports.
Ellis George struck just before half-time to give Cobham the lead, but Asa Phillips’ dismissal early in the second half swung momentum. Dorchester capitalised, with Callum Streamer volleying home the equaliser in the 74th minute.
Westland Break Their Duck
At the foot of the table, Westland Sports finally recorded their first points of the campaign, sweeping aside Poole Borough 5-0 in Yeovil. Goals from Joshua John, Malik Kamal, Steve Ormrod, Luca Martin, and Edward Howe lifted them off the bottom, leaving Poole propping up the table.
Gillingham Still Searching
New boys Gillingham Town remain winless after a narrow 3-2 defeat to Hamworthy United Reserves. Klarc Coates and Decon Proctor netted for the hosts, but goals from Caiden Barton, Jaicob Crowther, and Steven Mackay sealed victory for the Hammers.
Holt Climb, Electric Shine
Holt United climbed to third place thanks to a 2-0 win over Sherborne Town Reserves, with Josh Buck scoring both goals.
Meanwhile, Bournemouth Electric continued their strong start by beating Balti Sports 4-2, moving level on points with Cobham but behind on goal difference.
Blandford’s Winning Run
Blandford United made it three wins in a row with a 3-1 victory at Portland United Reserves.
Dan Kelly opened the scoring for Portland, but Kai Kylcoyne equalised before Elliot Manson struck twice in the second half to secure the win.
Late Drama Elsewhere
Verwood Town let slip a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw with Bridport Reserves, while Swanage Town & Herston and Hamworthy Recreation battled to a goalless draw.
Plenty of twists and turns on a dramatic weekend—Cobham remain top, but Bournemouth Sports and Bournemouth Electric are hot on their heels.
