The Lilliput Sailing Club is preparing to welcome sailors and spectators for its 69th Annual Regatta, taking place over the weekend of July 26–27.
Racing on Poole Bay and Harbour
The regatta will feature two days of competitive action. Cruiser racing will take place in Poole Bay for YTC-rated cruisers in Class I and II, along with the Gentleman’s Class — a performance-handicapped race sailed without spinnakers.
Meanwhile, dinghy handicap racing will be staged in Poole Harbour, with the highlight being a race around the islands on Sunday, adding extra challenge and spectacle.
Open Day for New Members
On Saturday, the club will also host an open day, giving newcomers the chance to meet members and discover more about dinghy and cruiser membership opportunities. Cruiser moorings are also available.
Club Commodore Martin Barker said:
“We extend a warm welcome to both cruiser and dinghy sailors and look forward to them joining in the racing on the water and the social events at the club.”
As a member-run organisation, Lilliput SC continues to encourage new participation while celebrating its long tradition of hosting this flagship regatta.
